About Me

Hello:) I’m Ting-Wen Ko, a student at University College London pursuing an M.Sc. in Computational Statistics and Machine Learning, with a prior M.Sc. in Computer Science from National Taiwan University. Currently, I’m working with professor Mengyue Yang and Jun Wang on understanding spurious correlation in LLM. Previously, I had the privilege to work with Pu-Jen Cheng and Jyun-Yu Jiang on my thesis - Augmenting Retrieval Augmented Generation with Passage Combination. When I’m free, I enjoy cooking, hopping into local cafes, and exploring the city 🌞💫

📚 My Research

My research interests lie in trustworthy & interpretable AI, especially in understanding LLM reasoning by causality. Before joining UCL, I worked in research intern roles at MediaTek Research UK and Yahoo!, where I gained experience in generative AI, machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and model understanding.
